MentalMetal ® was established in June of 2002.

MentalMetal ® is now a sub division of JT Engineering & Machining

We are a manufacture of custom products such as tattoo machines, guitar, bass, and amp knobs, Aluminum drum sticks, custom knobs such as the aftermarket avet reel clicker knob, Motorcycle decor knobs, Pull knobs, MentalMetal apparel and much more to come.

In 2002 we started making custom guitar knobs simply because there was nothing really custom about any guitar knobs out there, it was the same old cheap plain jane knobs on most guitars even the most expensive guitars have the same old cheap knobs. So we decided to do something about it and so we did. We constantly are creating new custom designed knobs and we also release limited editions to make it even more custom. We also developed our custom knob matching strap locks in 2002 which was sadly discontinued in 2006 due to lack of sales.

In 2003 we started making the custom solid polished aluminum drumsticks for Awards, gifts, and even as a good warm up set of sticks.
Soon after that we went to developing a aluminum playing series drumstick that was durable, perfectly balanced, light weight, and efficient to play with as far as wear and tear factors of skins, rims, cymbals, and hand fatigue. We released our first playing series in mid 2003 and discontinued the 51, 52, 53, and 54 series in 2006 while developing the much anticipated 64 series. While prototypes on the 64 series didn't meet our expectations we then went back to perfecting the original playing series sticks with nylon and nylatron tips, and better perfected balance. The new 55 Triple Sick playing series drumsticks was released in December 2008 and are by far the best drumsticks we've made.

In 2007 we developed the classic H tattoo machine with James Haun of Havok Tattoo and in 2008 teamed up to engineer a new more efficient, precision operating tattoo machine. A new patented design like you've never seen. As of March 2009 prototypes have been tested and perfected. The results though extream testing have been amazing and better then even expected. In 2009 we released our aftermarket knob for the Avet fishing reel 4/02. Our knob replaces the undersize hard to operate clicker knob on the stock reel. This is just one of many to come custom products offered only from MentalMetal.

Our plans for 2009 is to release more new products then ever before. On the list for new products to come alive is tattoo machines, custom handle bar ends for street bikes, custom shift linkages for Harley, and of course new series of guitar knobs and aluminum drumsticks as well. We are also working to replace stock on sold out guitar, bass, and amp knobs.
